Mr. Hung Bar Restaurant exceeded all expectations during my visit to Ha Giang. First and foremost, the food is outstanding. There is a wide array of delicious options to choose from, including vegan and gluten-free options. Whether you're craving local specialties or Western favorites like pizza and pasta, Mr. Hung Bar Restaurant has you covered. I must give a special mention to the lasagna, which was surprisingly good. Paired with the delicious garlic bread, it’s a satisfying and comforting meal after days of adventurous biking.

What truly sets this place apart, however, is the exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. Their sincerity and genuine friendliness make dining here a truly memorable experience. There is also a pool table on the third floor.

Quán Phở chua gia truyền

Phở Chua, or sour pho, is one of the must-try dishes when in Ha Giang. Originating from China and later spreading to northern provinces such as Ha Giang, Lang Son, Bac Kan, Cao Bang,... the traditional bowl of phở chua carries the traditional flavor that captivates diners with its unique taste.

The dish is prepared from ingredients such as char siu, roasted duck, fried peanuts, Chinese sausage, or homemade sausage. In addition, accompanying dishes include mint, fresh garlic, shredded papaya,... making the dish more appetizing. It’s not eaten with your typical broth but with a type of sweet and sour sauce made from vinegar mixed with sugar. You can also order fried buns with chili sauce, which are absolutely delicious. One downside is that the restaurant is not too spacey.

Pizza Here

This pizzeria exudes a cozy charm that invites you to indulge in its mouthwatering dishes. Each slice is a burst of flavor, and there isn’t too much of a difference between a small or large size, and the pizzas are super cheesy! In addition to their traditional round pizzas, don't miss out on their pizza rolls, a rare find in this region.

While the view may not be spectacular, the quality of the pizza more than compensates for it. In fact, many consider Pizza Here to serve the best pizza in Ha Giang, and I’ve seen Italians compliment it, which says something! And even if it’s not your cup of tea, it’s still a good change after days of local dishes.

The owners, a Catalan guy and his wife, are super nice people. It’s small things like them remembering returning customers that make your day! Whether you're exploring the Ha Giang loop or simply craving a cheesy delight, this pizzeria is definitely worth a visit. Buon appetito!

Sauce Tacos and Wings is a hidden gem tucked away in Ha Giang. The owners, Matt and Hannah, go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. Their friendliness and attentiveness create a welcoming atmosphere that's hard to find elsewhere. Whether you're indulging in their delicious food or engaging in a game of chess over beers, you're guaranteed a memorable time.

The nachos deserve a special mention for being absolutely amazing. Made with locally sourced ingredients, including corn harvested in the area. And don't miss out on their homemade hot sauce—it adds the perfect kick to every bite.

From the homemade corn tacos to the freshly made salsa, every dish is prepared with care and attention to detail. Be sure to drop in if you're in the area! Cheers to Matt and Hannah!

This cozy restaurant is one of the best and most versatile places in Ha Giang. Whether it was indulging in good food, watching your favorite sports team play, or challenging friends to a game of pool, there is something for everyone.

What truly set this place apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Even though there’s limited staffing, everyone is very accommodating and surprisingly quick, especially the women behind the bar. The owner is warm and would even teach you some Vietnamese phrases. They also put on a great 80s rock playlist.

As for the food, the dishes are delicious. The veggie pizza and milkshakes are highly recommended. Though the food is slightly pricier than street food, the stunning view from the restaurant more than made up for it.
