Visitors coming to Hoang Su Phi will have chance to picturesque the sunset of Cao Son valley, which can be seen from Tay Con Linh Mountain. The road from Bao Lac to Pac Bo (Cao Bang) is a long ride with some rough patches and potholes.
To be honest, travelling the route between the stunning land of various highland tribes on a bus would be a waste, as this is such an amazing route. Not being able to stop and enjoying everything this region gave would be disappointing. I would try to get a private driver who enable to stop whenever you want to. Then get to Bao Lac, from there you can take the bus to Cao Bang.
