Day 01: Hanoi – Mau Son (-/L/D) ~180 km - 5 hours,
After breakfast at hotel, then our guide will pick you up for the 7-day Northeast Vietnam motorbike tour. The guide will give you a short briefing about the trip before tour. Then, drive to Mau Son passing enormous rice fields of Red River Delta. Enjoy the beautiful landscape of rural areas in the Northeast. Arrive in Mau Son, climb up to the peak of Mau Son mountain where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the area as well as an old French hill station. Mau Son was demolished during the war with China and most buildings here have been rebuilt in traditional architecture. Finally, check in hotel/homestay and overnight in Mau Son.
Day 02: Mau Son – Cao Bang: (B/L/D) ~200 km ~ 7 hours
Enjoy breakfast at homestay/hotel, then we head out to the North of Lang Son where we will stop in Dong Dang which is the frontier district of Vietnam. After that, continue driving on legendary Highway 4 where Vietnam forces resisted numerous attacks from the enemy to protect this border area. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Cao Bang which is mostly covered by forest offering breathtaking landscapes. Upon arrival, check in hotel and overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 03: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfalls – Cao Bang (B/L/D) ~120 km ~ 3 hours
After breakfast at hotel, then we explore this beautiful and fanciful region with impressive karst mountain range by traveling to Ban Gioc waterfall. Stop on the way to enjoy the wonderful scenery and photo shoots. Arrive in Ban Gioc fall after some hours driving. The fall is located on the Vietnam – China border. You can take a bamboo raft (at your own cost) to come closer to the fall to dip into its grandiosity. Later, drive to Nguom Ngao cave which is about 3km from Ban Gioc. The cave is recognized as one of the best caves in Vietnam thanks to the stalactite system which makes the cave more imposing. Finally, drive back to the center in Cao Bang and overnight in Cao Bang.
Day 04 : Cao Bang – Ba Be (B/L/D) ~ 180 km ~ 7 hours
In the morning, we will depart to Ba Be lake. On the way conquer several passes which offer you a fabulous mountain scenery of the surrounding regions. Arrive in Ba Be lake in the afternoon. Ba Be is the most beautiful fresh lake in Vietnam which is surrounded by primary jungle and limestone cliffs. This is also the home of Thai and H’mong people. Check in homestay and overnight in Ba Be.
Day 05: Ba Be lake - Boating ride/Kayaking (B/L/D)
You will travel on our private boat on the Ba Be Lake for some hours associated with visiting cave, waterfall and temple. Firstly, visit the Puong Cave which is famous for its thousands of bats. Then, continue down the Nang river to see the Dau Dang Waterfall which is originated from Nang river blocked by huge stone. The fall is around 1000m long with 3 levels. After that, have lunch at a nearby village’s restaurant on the banks of the river. On the way back to the shore, we will stop for visiting An Ma temple associated with many mysterious stories of this area. Back to homestay and overnight in Ba Be.
Day 06: Ba Be – Hanoi (B/L/-) ~240 km ~ 8 hours
Enjoy your last day in Ba Be lake by waking up early to enjoy the fresh air from the lake or just roaming along the path of village to see the local life in early morning. Transfer back to Hanoi going past areas that are the land of H’mong, Dao, Tay and Nung people. Have lunch at a local restaurant before reaching Hanoi in the late afternoon.
